About Foster Care
Currently, there are approximately 2,000 children in foster care in Cuyahoga County. Most of these children are living in foster homes and will be reunited with their parents, but more than 600 children in foster care are waiting to be adopted. Some foster parents eventually plan to become adoptive parents and may foster a child with hopes of adopting him or her, while others open their homes to children temporarily in need.
While Adoption Network Cleveland does not offer training for prospective foster parents, many private adoption agencies and the Cuyahoga County Department of Family Services offer licensing training, and we can help you find the best agency to meet your needs.
