What We Do :: Programs :: Adoptive Parents
In most ways, adoptive parents are just like those who form their families biologically. They love their children, have hopes and dreams for them, and worry about their safety, education, and future. In other ways, though, adoptive parents can have other concerns, questions, or needs for themselves, their children, and the rest of their family because they've been touched by adoption.
Many couples and individuals hoping to become parents often look to adoption. About 1 in 4 couples experience infertility, so adoption becomes a way to build the family they've been hoping for. Others are single, gay, lesbian, or choose adoption for other reasons. Regardless of why someone chooses to adopt, the endeavor can be both exciting and overwhelming and is often filled with emotional ups and downs.

Adoption Network Cleveland offers many programs and services to assist adoptive parents, ranging from an Adoption Helpline where adoptive parents can find answers to their questions, to classes for adoptive and prospective adoptive parents, to Adoption Navigators who can help prospective adoptive parents complete the adoption process.
Assisting adoptive parents has long been one of the core missions of Adoption Network Cleveland. Adoptive parents face all of the same issues as parents of biological children, but also face issues unique to adoption, and it is these issues that Adoption Network Cleveland seeks to assist adoptive parents with. The easier it is to be an adoptive parent, the more people will chose to adopt, and the fewer children there will be waiting for a forever family.
