Family Ties

Family Ties is a support program for families who recently have had a youth placed with them or finalized the adoption of a youth. Through a strength-based lens, Family Ties is designed to help parents and youth to understand grief, loss and attachment issues. The program provides hands-on activities that help youth and parents to communicate effectively and build strong family ties and attachments. These programs and activities (based on family needs) may include home visits and family activities which include structured storytelling, family history projects, social outings, educational presentations and Education Liaison services.

Certificates for foster parent training hours are available. There is no fee for participating in Family Ties, but we ask that all families who use our services become members of Adoption Network Cleveland. (A sliding scale is available for families who have adopted from, or are in the process of adopting, from the public child welfare system and cannot afford to pay the full membership.)
