Go Casual for the Kids

With the help of Adoption Network Cleveland, hundreds of children and youth found loving, permanent adoptive homes, teens most at-risk of aging out have a safe space to share their fears and dreams at the Get Real support group, and many more have an adult in their life to support them on their transition to adulthood because of the Permanency Champions mentoring program.

We invite area businesses and organizations to help us carry on this important work and change the lives of local children and youth in foster care by hosting a Go Casual for the Kids (GC4TK) dress-down day to raise money for Adoption Network Cleveland programs and services.

There are only 5 easy steps to having a GC4TK dress-down day event at your organization:

1. Choose a date. We suggest doing it during Adoption Month (November) or select a date of importance/convenience to your organization or employee(s). If your business already has a regular casual day, set up a day to dress in formal attire or have a crazy hair or hat day. Wear corporate/school colors. Be creative and have fun!

2. Complete a GC4TK participation form and designate someone to be the GC4TK Coordinator. This person will help to recruit participants and collect donations (suggested donation amount is $5 per person). Adoption Network Cleveland can provide a webpage for online donations, to alleviate any extra work on the coordinators part.

3. Advertise the event. Display event posters in high visibility areas and send memos and/or e-mails to all employees informing them of the event.

4. Fundraise and collect donations. This is the fun part! Ask around the workplace and get others involved. Combine all donations and issue a check payable to “Adoption Network Cleveland.” Be sure to include your completed pledge forms with your donations or collect donations online via a website Adoption Network Cleveland helps you set-up.

5. Go casual for the cause! Allow all those who donated to wear jeans on your event date. You can also invite your employees to learn more at an informational table or “brown bag” speaker.
