Adoption Navigators
One of the largest barriers to the adoption of children and youth is the difficulty people interested in adoption face in moving from their initial inquiry to actually adopting. By providing Adoption Navigators, Adoption Network Cleveland greatly increases the likelihood that someone who inquires about adopting will successfully navigate the training, application, homestudy and placement process.
If you are interested in becoming an adoptive parent, Adoption Navigators provide support to you before, during and after the process of adopting, especially if you are adopting from the public child welfare system (children who are in county care who have been removed from their birth families through no fault of their own). Many of our Navigators have themselves adopted from, or have other experience with, the public child welfare system.
In addition, Adoption Navigators can provide support, information and referrals to you after they you have adopted, in order to ensure that you have the resources you need in order to make your adoption successful.
We ask that all families who use the services of an Adoption Navigator become members of Adoption Network Cleveland. (A sliding scale is available for families who have adopted or are in the process of adopting from the public child welfare system and cannot afford to pay the full membership cost.)
Adoption Navigators help create and sustain families by offering support to parents throughout the adoption journey, and help children by assisting in finding “forever families” for them. Let us know how we can help you.
