Resources for Youth

If you are nearing 18 and facing aging out of foster care, have recently aged out of foster care, or know someone who has, here are some resources that might be helpful:

Youth Pages for Cuyahoga County Teens
This resource guide provides information about organizations that can help with food, clothing, shelter and medical care.

United Way’s 211 Line
2-1-1 is a free community service that helps connect people with information about social, health and government resources 24 hours a day.
Simply dial 2-1-1 or visit www.211cleveland.org.

Nurturing Independence and Aspirations (NIA) 
This YWCA program promotes self-sufficiency in young women aging out of foster care. Components include GED.  Visit ywcaofcleveland.org.

The Purple Project
This organization provides an online and offline support system and resource community for current and former foster youth.

Foster Care Alumni of America Ohio Chapter
This organization connects alumni and works to transform the child welfare system.
