Robert Gibbons
Parent Educational Liaison

Robert Gibbons (aka Gib) retired from teaching after 30 years of service. Most of those years at the Positive Education Program (PEP) right here in Cuyahoga County. At Adoption Network Cleveland since 2009, Gib is excited to continue to work directly with families to improve the educational and mental health needs of adopted children. Having attended Milton Hershey School as a youth, a cost-free, private home and school for children from families of low income, limited resources, and social need, Gib is sensitive to the unique needs of children who have been adopted or have lived in foster care.
Gib moved to Cleveland from Erie, PA in 1978. His wife is a pastor in the United Methodist Church, currently serving two churches in Akron. Gib has two wonderful grown children, both college graduates having graduated from Cleveland Heights High. Perhaps their greatest blessing is their lovely granddaughter!
In his spare time, Gib dabbles in music, as a singer/songwriter, playing with lifelong friends in the group Flipside! Besides music, local history is also his passion with a special interest in the Nottingham Euclid Township area. Gib has co-authored the book,
Euclid Creek, part of the Images of America series published by Arcadia Press.
