Serve on a Committee or on our Board of Directors

Board of Directors
Adoption Network Cleveland’s Board of Directors is a group of diverse and passionate individuals, many of whom have been directly touched by adoption or foster care, who share an understanding and commitment to the mission of the organization.  The Board of Directors as a body, and its individual members, makeup the primary governing body of the organization.  The members of the Board of Directors provide policy governance, serve in leadership roles on the organization’s committees and play a major role in achieving the fund development goals of the organization.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee coordinates the board’s financial oversight responsibilities by recommending policy to the board, interpreting it for the staff, and monitoring its implementation.

Leadership Development Committee
This committee nurtures new and existing leadership for Adoption Network Cleveland so that individuals find taking a leadership role in our organization both invigorating and fulfilling.  This includes coordinating nominations for seats on our board of trustees, working closely with our board and other volunteer leaders and creating new leaders from among our membership.

Program Committee
The Program Committee evaluates current programming, identifies best practices and resources for potential new programming and acts as a liaison to Adoption Network Cleveland membership, staff and Board members about evolving needs.

Public Policy Committee
The Public Policy Committee acts to effectuate changes in public policy governing adoptions. This public policy may include laws, agency regulations and societal attitudes.

Outreach and Development Committee
Using new and traditional media, the Outreach and Development Committee seeks to raise awareness about foster care and adoption issues as well as the programs and services that Adoption Network Cleveland offers to address these issues.  In addition, the committee oversees the development of financial resources from individuals, foundations, corporations and government sources in order to ensure that the organization has the funds necessary to implement these programs and services.

Special Events Sub-Committee
A sub-committee of the Fund Development Committee, the Special Event Sub-Committee meets monthly and is responsible for the planning and execution of Adoption Network Cleveland’s major fundraising events, including the Creating Futures Benefit & Silent Auction and the Lanes for Change bowling event. Committee members are responsible for soliciting event sponsors and donations, working on event logistics, assisting with event marketing, selling raffle tickets, assisting with miscellaneous errands, and volunteering on the day of the event.
