The Family Ties Program provides guidance, education and support for adoptive, kinship (family members parenting young relatives) and foster families with children ages 2-18 through monthly group meetings, one-on-one support, educational opportunities and social activities. The program focuses on strengthening families, nurturing resiliency and building social connections that positively impact the overall health and well-being of the entire family. During monthly meetings, the parent group, youth group (ages 11-18) and childcare (ages 2-10) run concurrently.

Parent Cafe's are structured, small-group conversations that bring parents together to discuss issues that are important to them. These are essential tools used to engage parents directly in building protective factors and enhancing resiliency for families.

Parent Group Topic: What is Your Personality and Parenting Style? Do our personality traits impact our interactions and relationships with our children? Join us for a discussion about personality and parenting and how we can use the Color Code personality assessment to explore this idea.

Youth Group (ages 11-18) Topic: Self Awareness Youth will explore their own emotions, thoughts, and values and how they influence behavior. Youth will discuss self-perception versus how other’s perceive them and how they can reconcile these differences while identifying their own strengths and limitations and practice activities that promote self-esteem.
