Adoption Network Cleveland’s General Discussion Meetings provide an opportunity for all those who are impacted by adoption to share their perspectives and learn from each other.
While most of our General Discussion Meetings have an open discussion format, the March 3 meeting will have a special topic, "Ambiguous Loss." Ambiguous loss—a feeling of grief or distress combined with confusion about the lost person or relationship—is a normal aspect of adoption.” How can loss be dealt with when it is not acknowledged or recognized by general society that there is a loss at the core of adoption? Join us as we discuss ways that families and individuals come to terms with this unresolved grief and deal with the loss.
To enhance the discussion, we ask that attendees consider reading the following article before the meeting: https://www.nacac.org/resource/ambiguous-loss-foster-and-adopted-children/
This meeting will be a virtual meeting facilitated by Linda and Jim. Our Virtual General Discussion Meetings meet via the Google Meet platform (which can be accessed through a home computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile phone) and will require an internet connection or phone data connection.
