X-WR-CALDESC:Monday\, December 13 (8-9 pm ET) featuring Mark Cardwell\nLet
's Talk About It - Having Difficult Conversations\n\nHindsight\, they say\
, is 20/20. After my adoption I grew up in a loving home. Still\, I rememb
er the tense times connected to any discussion of my life pre-adoption and
birth family. I wish I could go back and help my parents through those di
fficult talks with me. Even as an adult post-reunion my adoptive mother an
d I struggled to communicate around these issues. Turned out it was easier
for my mom to share details with my wife than with me directly and I for
that matter wasn’t sure how to not sound ungrateful or confrontational.\n
\nIn the discussion “Let’s Talk About It”\, I share my personal experience
and perspective on how we might manage the uncomfortable or tough convers
ations that come up in all stages of the adoption journey. \n\nAbout Mark
