We’ll s hare ideas on choosing the perfect music to calm the body and relax and el evate the spirit. We invite you to bring your thoughts on a piece of music that you enjoy.  \n\nAbout General Discussion Meetings \nThese virtual ga therings provide a safe place where people can share their feelings and ex periences\, get support from their peers\, and learn from others’ perspect ives. The meetings have an open discussion format and are attended by anyo ne with a connection to adoption or foster care\, including adult adoptees \, birth parents\, siblings\, and adoptive parents\, those that have exper ienced foster or kinship care\, or DNA discoveries such as misattributed p arentage or donor conception. Professionals are also welcome to come and l earn from the shared perspectives of the constellation members.\n\nWe beli eve adoption is a complex\, lifelong\, and intergenerational journey for a ll those whose lives are impacted by it. These meetings connect and empowe r individuals impacted by adoption\, kinship\, foster care\, and DNA Disco veries and provide a source of healing\, understanding\, and learning. Rec ognizing that a unified voice is a strong voice\, we advocate for truth an d honesty on behalf of adoptees\, who wonder where they came from and why they were placed for adoption\; for birth families\, who have never forgot ten the child\; and for adoptive families\, who deserve to have their ques tions addressed honestly. We recognize that everyone has a right to know t heir genetic history. By bringing these groups together\, we learn from th e experiences of each other and have the opportunity to explore and proces s our own journeys.\n\nGroup's Scope\nThis peer discussion and support gro up is not meant to replace conventional therapy\, but rather serve as addi tional support on your personal journey to integrate your experience. The focus of this group is the emotional aspects of our journeys. For those in volved in the process of search\, one on one guidance and support as well as technical expertise and assistance are available through our Search & D NA Assistance Program.\n\nMeeting Information\n\nThese are virtual meeting s led by trained\, volunteer facilitators using the Zoom platform (which c an be accessed through a home computer/laptop\, tablet\, or mobile phone) and will require an internet connection or phone data connection.
