X-WR-CALDESC:Adoption Constellation Discussion Panel: The Emotional Perspec
tive During the Holidays\n\nJoin us for an engaging and insightful panel d
iscussion exploring the emotional landscape of the holiday season within t
he adoption community. Hear from a variety of voices about the feelings th
e holidays evoke and learn practical tips and strategies to navigate this
time of year with resilience. We'll open the floor for a group discussion\
, allowing everyone to share their insights and experiences. As always\, t
here will be time for anyone to share anything new or personally important
. Don’t miss this chance to connect\, support\, and uplift each other duri
ng the holidays! \n\nGeneral Discussion Meetings provide a safe place wher
e people can share their feelings and experiences\, get support from their
peers\, and learn from others’ perspectives. The meetings have an open di
scussion format and are attended by anyone with a connection to adoption o
 r foster care\, including adult adoptees\, birth parents\, siblings\, and
adoptive parents\, those that have experienced foster or kinship care\, or
DNA discoveries such as misattributed parentage or donor conception. Prof
essionals are also welcome to come and learn from the shared perspectives
of the constellation members.\n\nWhy are these groups needed?\n\nWe believ
e adoption is a complex\, lifelong\, and intergenerational journey for all
those whose lives are impacted by it. These meetings connect and empower
individuals impacted by adoption\, kinship\, foster care\, and DNA Discove
ries and provide a source of healing\, understanding\, and learning. Recog
nizing that a unified voice is a strong voice\, we advocate for truth and
honesty on behalf of adoptees\, who wonder where they came from and why th
ey were placed for adoption\; for birth families\, who have never forgotte
n the child\; and for adoptive families\, who deserve to have their questi
ons addressed honestly. We recognize that everyone has a right to know the
ir genetic history. By bringing these groups together\, we learn from the
experiences of each other and have the opportunity to explore and process
our own journeys.\n\nWhat is the scope of this group?\n\nThis peer discuss
ion and support group is not meant to replace conventional therapy\, but r
ather serve as additional support on your personal journey to integrate yo
ur experience. The focus of this group is the emotional aspects of our jou
rneys. For those involved in the process of search\, one on one guidance a
