X-WR-CALDESC:Members of the adoption constellation often navigate complex e
motional landscapes when it comes to love and relationships. Experiences o
f abandonment\, loss\, and identity can influence how we connect with othe
rs\, sometimes creating a deeper longing for belonging or a fear of reject
ion. Join Estes and Dottie for a candid conversation on the topic. Please
note that this will be Estes' last General Discussion Meeting as a co-faci
litator before he retires in February. \n\nGeneral Discussion Meetings pro
vide a safe place where people can share their feelings and experiences\,
get support from their peers\, and learn from others’ perspectives. The me
etings have an open discussion format and are attended by anyone with a co
nnection to adoption or foster care\, including adult adoptees\, birth par
ents\, siblings\, and adoptive parents\, those that have experienced foste
r or kinship care\, or DNA discoveries such as misattributed parentage or
donor conception. Professionals are also welcome to come and learn from th
e shared perspectives of the constellation members.\n\nWhy are these group
 s needed?\n\nWe believe adoption is a complex\, lifelong\, and intergenera
tional journey for all those whose lives are impacted by it. These meeting
s connect and empower individuals impacted by adoption\, kinship\, foster
care\, and DNA Discoveries and provide a source of healing\, understanding
\, and learning. Recognizing that a unified voice is a strong voice\, we a
dvocate for truth and honesty on behalf of adoptees\, who wonder where the
y came from and why they were placed for adoption\; for birth families\, w
ho have never forgotten the child\; and for adoptive families\, who deserv
e to have their questions addressed honestly. We recognize that everyone h
as a right to know their genetic history. By bringing these groups togethe
r\, we learn from the experiences of each other and have the opportunity t
o explore and process our own journeys.\n\nWhat is the scope of this group
?\n\nThis peer discussion and support group is not meant to replace conven
