  support groups for parents who have adopted children outside of their own
  race\, aiming to provide an intentionally structured and supportive space
  where parents can hear from leaders with lived expertise and come togethe
 r to share their experiences\, challenges\, and successes in raising trans
 racially adopted persons.\n\nThe support groups will be conducted virtuall
 y via Zoom\, allowing participants from different geographical locations t
 o connect and engage in meaningful discussions. The sessions will take pla
 ce from noon-1 pm EST.\n\nAdoption Network Cleveland (ANC) is celebrating 
 35 years of connecting and empowering individuals\, organizations\, and co
 mmunities impacted by adoption\, kinship\, and foster care. ANC provides a
  source of healing\, through education\, advocacy\, empowerment\, and peer
  support for those impacted by adoption and family separation. The partner
 ship of Transracial Journeys and Adoption Network Cleveland offers a uniqu
 e opportunity for parents of both communities to benefit from the shared e
 xpertise and knowledge of both organizations.\n\nWe aim to create an inclu
 sive and welcoming environment where parents can build connections\, find 
 support\, and learn from one another. By offering these co-hosted monthly 
 support groups\, Adoption Network Cleveland hopes to empower parents to na
 vigate the unique challenges and joys of transracial adoption while promot
 ing understanding and acceptance within their families and communities.\n
 \nAbout your facilitators:\n\nJanelle Poskocil\nJanelle brings over 20 yea
 rs of experience in education and social services. She loves to support fa
 milies by creating supportive communities that empower and encourage. She 
 is mom to four transracially adopted children who are now young adults. He
 r journey over the past twenty-two years has taught her that adoption is c
 omplex. As Program Coordinator for Families and Youth at Adoption Network 
 Cleveland\, Janelle is responsible for implementing responsive support and
  education opportunities for parents\, caregivers\, and youth in adoptive\
 , foster and kinship families.\n\nLiz Gordon-Canlas\nLiz Gordon-Canlas is 
 an adoptee\, advocate\, and community leader whose work is shaped by her l
 ived experience as an identical twin adopted from foster care. She is deep
 ly committed to elevating the voices\, needs\, and rights of adoptees—part
 icularly around access to original birth certificates\, medical records\, 
 and truthful narratives about identity and family. Liz has presented regio
 nally and nationally on adoptee-centered policy reform and was a featured 
 speaker at the Ohio CASA Celebrate Kids! Conference\, where she shared her
  story of transracial adoption and the lifelong impact of connectedness\, 
 belonging\, and truth.
