 Each year\, Adoption Network Cleveland staff and volunteers travel to the 
 Ohio Statehouse to meet with state representatives and senators—both new a
 nd long-serving—to advocate for policies that reflect lived experience\, e
 thical practice\, and long-term support. We are excited to announce that W
 ednesday\, March 11 is our official 2026 Lobby Day\, and we hope you will 
 be part of it.\n\nWhat Volunteers Will Do\n\nVolunteers will work in small
  teams to:\n\nMeet with legislators and their staff\nAdvocate for Adoption
  Network Cleveland’s public policy priorities\nShare materials and provide
  a memorable\, attention‑getting branded candy jar\nNo prior advocacy expe
 rience is required.\n\nWhy Volunteer?\n\nLobby Day is a powerful opportuni
 ty to:\n\nMake your voice heard on issues that matter\nLearn how state gov
 ernment works\nBuild advocacy and leadership skills\nAdd public policy adv
 ocacy experience to your resume\nWe need 30 or more volunteers in Columbus
  to make a strong impact.\n\nFlexible Volunteer Shifts\n\nWe are offering 
 two volunteer shifts this year (times include lunch):\n\nMorning shift: 8:
 30 AM – 1:30 PM\nAfternoon shift: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM\nLunch will be provid
 ed\, and carpooling may be available for those who need transportation.\n

 say? Don’t worry. Adoption Network Cleveland will provide:\n\nAdvocacy tra
 ining\nClear talking points on key issues\nTeam‑based meetings (groups of 
 two or three volunteers)\nYou’ll never be advocating alone.\n\nCan’t Trave
 l to Columbus?\n\nThere are still ways to help. We also need volunteers to
  assist with pre‑event preparations leading up to Lobby Day.\n\nHow to Sig

 s a unique and effective way to discuss real‑world issues with the people 
 who have the power to address them. The 136th Ohio General Assembly is wel
 l underway\, and it is essential that adoptees’ and families’ voices are h
 eard.\n\nAdvocacy works. During our 2012 Lobby Day\, a meeting with the st
 aff of then‑State Senator Bill Beagle sparked interest that led to Ohio Se
 nate Bill 23\, which passed in 2013 and restored access to original birth 
 records for more than 400\,000 Ohio adoptees.\n\nOur 2025 Lobby Day was al
 so a tremendous success\, with volunteers meeting in person with over 65 H
 ouse and Senate offices. In 2026\, we aim to meet—or exceed—that reach.\n
 \nOur Public Policy Focus\n\nDuring Lobby Day 2026\, advocacy will center 
 on key elements of our Public Policy Agenda\, including:\n\nPromoting ethi
 cal and equitable practices in adoption and child welfare\nSupporting and 
 preserving sibling connections\nAdvancing policies that improve outcomes f
 or adoptees and families across the lifespan\nBe Part of the Impact\n\nThi
 s is a meaningful way to get involved\, learn new skills\, and make a tang
 ible difference. Training is provided\, and your time and talent can help 
 strengthen our collective voice.\n\nTo reach more legislators and create l
