X-WR-CALDESC:Open Adoption and Grief Can Coexist\n\nAbout the Discussion:\n
For many people\, the term “open adoption” brings assumptions of reassuran
ce\, connection\, and reduced loss. While openness can create meaningful r
elationships and moments of healing\, it does not erase the complex grief
that many birth mothers continue to carry. In this special topic meeting\,
we will explore the nuanced realities of open adoption and the ways grief
 \, love\, gratitude\, joy\, longing\, and loss can all exist at the same t
ime. Together\, we will discuss how openness can change over time\, the em
otional impact of ongoing contact\, and the importance of creating space f
or honest conversations about the lifelong experiences of birth mothers. T
his meeting is open to all impacted by adoption\, including adoptees\, ado
ptive parents\, professionals\, and supporters who want to listen\, learn\
, and better understand the complexities of open adoption.\n\nFacilitators
