On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Adoption Network Cleveland will be going OVER THE EDGE at 1300 E. 9th Street in Downtown Cleveland.  Through peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, brave individuals will have the opportunity to make this 255-foot rappel down the south-facing side of the building under careful guidance from a team of experts led by Over The Edge.  

In order to make this day run smoothly, we need a stellar crew of volunteers!

Roles include:

  • Event day set up (7am-8am)
  • Volunteer check-in: greet volunteers as they arrive and get them to their assigned areas
  • Registration table: greet participants, ensures waivers are signed, keeps everything on schedule
  • Staging area volunteer: assist Over The Edge staff in rappeller readiness
  • Guides: walks groups of rappellers through the process, showing them where to go
  • Landing zone volunteer: assist rappellers once they've reached the ground to remove and return their gear
  • Roof top radio volunteer: will message down to the emcee who the next rappellers are and assist with the event flow up on the roof
  • Sign-making table: staffs table with sign-making supplies
  • FotaFlow Photographer (roof & ground) - will be trained to use the FotaFlow app (you will need to install this app on your personal smartphone for this role)
  • Photographers - general
  • Adoption Network Cleveland Info Table volunteer: shares info with guests about ANC's history, programs, and services
  • Tear down crew (official time tbd - will depend on number of rappellers)

We are also now recruiting ROPE VOLUNTEERS to assist with Over The Edge! From the top of 1300 E. 9th Street, you won’t just be managing ropes—you’ll be helping create a powerful experience that raises critical funds and awareness for Adoption Network Cleveland.

Requirements for Rope Volunteers:

  • Attend training the afternoon of Friday, August 21
  • Attend on event day - Saturday, August 22 (8am-5pm)
  • No previous experience needed – Over The Edge will train you!
  • Participants are raising $1,000 to rappel. If you donate your time and effort, YOU WILL GET TO RAPPEL FOR FREE!
