Adoption Network Cleveland’s General Discussion Meetings provide an opportunity for all those who are impacted by adoption to share their perspectives and learn from each other.

This particular meeting will have a special topic: Exploring Our Fears Surrounding Adoption
There can be many fears surrounding adoption, for all parties involved. Adoptive parents may fear how their family will react to their adoption plans or to their openness in their adoption. In a closed adoption, they might fear the birth family, or fear if the adoptee wants to search. Adoptees might be reluctant to tell their adoptive parents they want to search, or have been reunited. And birth parents can fear the relinquished child will reject them or judge them. This meeting will explore these fears and address how such fears can be overcome. Join us in exploring our fears and more, as we address them from all perspectives of the triad.

This meeting will be a virtual meeting facilitated by Kim and Denice. Our Virtual General Discussion Meetings meet via the Google Meet platform (which can be accessed through a home computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile phone) and will require an internet connection or phone data connection.

Our General Discussion Meetings with specific topics fill up quickly. Space is limited to ensure a reasonable number of participants to engage in discussion, so please register in advance. We keep a waiting list once we meet the registration limit, so if you are registered and unable to attend, please let us know so we can open that spot up for someone else.
