Parenting While Adopted - General Meeting facilitated by Barbara and Dan

Adoption Network Cleveland’s General Discussion Meetings are meant to be a supportive discussion group for members of the adoption triad and those who support them. They provide an opportunity for participants to listen to the experiences and perspectives of others who understand, share their perspectives, and learn from each other.

While most of our General Discussion Meetings have an open discussion format, the August 25 meeting will have a special topic, "Parenting While Adopted." Having children can be a very powerful experience for adoptees and can bring with it a biological connection they never experienced as well as an expanded view of pregnancy, birth, and parenting. The impacts can vary as every journey is unique. Some describe parenting as profound and healing, some find it brings them closer to their adoptive family and awakens a new appreciation, and some find it compels them to search for their own genetic identity and medical history for themselves and their children. Join us as we explore the journey that adoptees experience as parents. Space is limited to maintain the ability of those registered to participate in the discussion. Our special topic meetings are very popular and frequently have a waiting list.

This meeting will be led by volunteer facilitators Barbara and Dan. Our General Discussion Meetings meet via the Zoom platform (which can be accessed through a home computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile phone) and will require an internet connection or phone data connection.

Pre-registration is required. Click REGISTER NOW, enter the number of attendees and your information, and then click COMPLETE REGISTRATION.
